LSU football star Trey Holly 'CHARGED with attempted MURDER' after his arrest on three felony counts

LSU football star Trey Holly has been charged with attempted second-degree murder in connection with a shooting that left two people injured in Louisiana last week.

Holly, who plays as a running back for the Tigers, was taken into custody and faces two other felony charges – aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of a weapon. 

The 19-year-old freshman turned himself into police on Thursday, according to The Advocate, over the incident which occurred in the Louisiana town of Farmerville at around 10:30pm last Friday. 

One woman is said to have been left in a critical condition after she was shot three times, while a man was also shot once in his lower leg, reports The Advocate .

Investigators determined that three shooters fired multiple rounds following an earlier altercation at the location.

Holly, who was arrested over the shooting along with two others, was booked at the Union Parish Detention Center after turning himself in on Thursday.

Sheriff Dusty Gates of the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office in Farmerville says the investigation is ongoing.

It is believed there is the possibility that another shooter was involved, with Gates adding that although they are yet to be identified, further arrests are anticipated.

Following Holly’s arrest, LSU said in a statement that he has been suspended from the team ‘indefinitely’.

‘We are aware that a student-athlete has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Union Parish,’ LSU said. ‘This student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities, in accordance with departmental policies.

‘Out of respect for the judicial process, we will have no further comment.’

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel , Holly is being held on a $512,000 bond.
